Giving Back is a page where we highlight some ideas for improving the lives of children locally and around the world.  LeatherLuggageShop.com's founders believe that we have been given many talents and tools that could be used to brighten a child's life, even if for only a moment.  We will be adding Giving Back items occasionally and encourage our visitors to this website to piggyback on our projects or think of some great ones of your own. 

Graduation Gear

Each year kids all over the United States work hard toward having the opportunity to graduate with their peers.  Unfortunately, some of those kids' families are unable to afford the standard cap and gown that the other students will be wearing.  These kids will not "walk" with their class because they don't want to look different.  Because of that, they may miss making one good memory that will stay with them as they grow up.  You can help.  Contact your local high school, talking with the principal or guidance counselor and offer to set up a fund for students who are unable to purchase a cap and gown.  At this writing, the cost is approximately $40 - $50.  You won't be given names of the students, but the school can let the families know there is assistance available for the purchases.  Don't stop with cap and gown!  Look over the list of graduation invitations and donate enough for 15 invitations for two students.  Help make this important day a memorable one for a graduating senior!

School Fees for African Students

For eleven years, the founders of LeatherLuggageShop.com have been providing school fees for underpriviledged kids in Uganda, East Africa.  Going to school is sometimes taken for granted in the United States.  For children in many parts of Africa, school is a luxury that few can attain.  For a small donation, Reaching Kids International identifies a child in Uganda in need of school fees.  Working with the family and the school officials, the child is enrolled in school, given a uniform and school supplies.  Before long, another child with little hope of a future is given the opportunity to join the few who are attending school.  Talk about a life-changing donation!  Click here to be taken to Reaching Kids International Donation page and specify Africa when you donate.
